This poignant, emotional, relevant and topical performance had the whole audience enthralled from the very first moment.

The first ten minutes is almost silent apart from the word 'You' and the occasional bang on a dustbin. Zodwa's face is kept hidden until her eyes emerge from behind the dustbin, wide and alert telling their own story.

Mamela Nyamza plays Zodwa, a bride to be in Cape Town. The acting by Mamela is beyond exceptional. Her body movements, facial expressions and vocals (there were no words) were exquisite an emotive and said far more than any scripted words could.

The performance is deigned to draw the audience in, Mojisola Adebayo plays Donna who is waiting for Zodwa at the alter on their wedding day. She talks directly to the audience as the wedding guests, asking the time and asking an individual to hold her bouquet. This drew the audience further into the performance by making the audience a third character.

The story covers so many topical worldwide issues, including gay marriage in the UK, colonialism and many 'un-African' imported cultures.

The power of this performance is the story, which unfolds layer by layer, and in doing so unveils the meaning of the earlier scenes, taking the audience through a full spectrum of emotions and back again.
