The Backseat at SHE Soho

Venue: SHE Soho
When: 2nd and 4th Wednesday

Wednesday 27th August at She Bar Soho The Backseat DJ's jumped on the decks to bring something different to SHE.

Maxie and Bridget span the decks to bring dark disco, old school soul, Motown, rhythm and blues to a mid week evening.

After a delay due to a technical error, the night started of with Aretha Franklin's R.E.S.P.E.C.T setting the scene for what was to come.
The music that followed allowed for a relaxing environment where you can just chill to the sounds of artists like The Velvelettes, The Jackson 5, The Supremes, Cher and Marvin Gaye.

It was nice to have a night away from the regular DJs and the mainstream music that is normally played and have a chilled out relaxing evening especially after a hard day at work listening to songs like 'I'll Be There' (The Jackson 5) and 'Dancing In The Streets' (Martha Reeves and the Vandellas) to wash away those mid-week blues.

You can't help but bop to the rhyme, the sounds gets you in the mood. The infectious vibe fills the room with a blend of romance and a sense of guarded curiosity. Everyone will soon feel the potential to be themselves with the flow of the music and just naturally jam with the old school vibes. As the night goes on the chitter chatter is dwindling as the room suddenly feels a kick to the classic beat of bump and grind.
When one is inspired to dance at the drop of a hat, it's clear this music is something you don't hear everyday.

As the night swings on and the DJ switch's from song to song the atmosphere grows and people are tapping their feet and bopping their shoulders as they sip their drinks when the music is mixed up added another dimension to the night by switching between old school such as Diana Ross's 'Aint No Mountain High Enough' and T-Rex's 'I Love To Boogie' to Missy Elliott's 'Work It' and Beyoncé's 'Diva'.

As the Bar starts to feel the atmosphere, it becomes electric and the vibes get everyone up and dancing. Even when the evening came to an end no one wanted to leave as they were laughing and joking all together.
