Lick me and feed me to lesbians!

When: 5th Sat (see calendar for details)
Where: The Eagle, Vauxhall
Time: 9pm-4am

Described as an attitude free, fun loving night packed with delicktious lesbians and their queer guests. Club promoter Fisch and the ladies who lick bring you a night of Eastern Exotica and Western Wantonness.

Like me, you've probably never actually stepped inside The Eagle at Vauxhall. It is normally packed full of men, and home to legendary Horse Meat Disco. An unlikely venue therefore for one of the latest lesbian nights to hit the London scene. Karen and Olga run Lick! and boy do they put on a show. This month there was a spring fusion; east meets west with sheeshas and Baklava.

This is a fresh new night, it was refreshing to find good music with a decent beat, courtesy of DJ Abstar. The crowd wasn't the usual suspects and this night has succeeded in filling a gap in the scene for the 30s to 40s lesbian about town.

The venue is very good, with an outside garden making this event Summer proof!! There is a pool table for those who like to hang out but not dance, and a dance floor for those who feel the beat.

Lick is great value for money in that you get entry, sweets, and entertainment. This month to match the theme we were treated to belly dancers.

There was a raffle raising money for the Peter Tatchell Foundation, which included prizes such as a ticket to LFest, DVDs from Peccadillo, Vodka, goodies from Klone Zone. Olga was offering £2 for a strip - raffle tickets, not the full monty type!!

You could rub Olga's lamp and try your luck in the snake basket for a prize.
The effort in this event was really felt, and everyone was having a great time.

DJ Abstar was on until 1am and she kept the dancefloor busy with Oldskool uplifting vocal house. Check out her music here:

From 1am we had DJ Ms Wood and there was also the treat of belly dancers - what more could you ask for?!?

When this event is next on, you should be there; I know I will!
